Part 1:
Self-Directed Learning
Learners will complete e- a series of case-based, interactive self-directed learning lessons in a closed online classroom for an overview of IPT’s background, structure, and the clinical tasks of the IPT beginning, middle and termination phases, with review of essential therapeutic elements to optimize clinical outcomes with attention to individual patient’s differences in culture and attachment patterns of relating.
Part 2:
Live Group Learning
On day 1, participants will practice IPT case formulation and conduct interpersonal inventories in small breakout groups. In addition, there will be a focus on the IPT clinical strategy of conducting communication analyses to explore and facilitate improved understanding and communication in relationships.
Sessions held 9:00am – 4:00pm ET.
On day 2, participants will practice middle phase tasks for role disputes and interpersonal sensitivities in case-based breakout groups. Discussion and review of termination phase tasks and clinical challenges will be conducted within the larger group of learners.
Sessions held 9:00am – 4:00pm ET.
In addition, all learners will be provided with a copy a take-home text, “Psychotherapy Essentials to Go: IPT for Depression” with additional self-directed lesson plans and homework to help consolidate learning, with a ‘bedside’ practice reminder.
